Textual definition update: GO:0008253 5'-nucleotidase activity #29439
Comments
Actually I guess all the children are ribo, but in this case what happens with dNMP terms? |
Dunno. Maybe in the GO world as redefined, they are fated to remain eternally phosphorylated? |
Is the action to move GO:0002953 under GO:0008252 nucleotidase activity? |
I think you can do one of 2 things:
OR
|
In the parlance of EC, nucleotidases are for ribonucleosides (EC:3.1.3.5/6/7) and apparently not for deoxyribonucleoside (EC:3.1.3.89). But then, GO:0008252 nucleotidase activity is defined by RHEA:22140 that has no direct annotations in UniProt. There are 9 direct EXP annotations to this term. I do wonder if all of them can be moved to a more specific term thus making it possible for GO:0008252 nucleotidase activity to become DO-NOT-ANNOTATE or even obsoleted. |

Catalysis of the reaction: a 5'-
ribonucleotide + H2O = aribonucleoside + phosphate.Reference(s)
