Please provide as much information as you can:

  • Suggested term label:

Would there be any objection to adding a grouping term for

GO:0120126    response to copper ion starvation | is_a
GO:0120127    response to zinc ion starvation | is_a
GO:1990641    response to iron ion starvation | is_a

GO:NEW response to transition metal starvation

  • Definition (free text)

Any process that results in a change in state or activity of a cell or an organism (in terms of movement, secretion, enzyme production, gene expression, etc.) as a result of a starvation stimulus, deprivation of a transition metal ion ion. PMID:24024382

  • Reference, in format PMID:#######

e.g. PMID:39910760

  • Gene product name and ID to be annotated to this term

at this point I would be using in an extension for a modification annotation (occurs during GO:NEW response to transition metal starvation)

  • Parent term(s)

GO:0042594 response to starvation

  • Children terms (if applicable) Should any existing terms that should be moved underneath this new proposed term?

all of the transition starvation metal terms

  • Any other information

Often EDTA or other metal chealtors are used to induce conditions of transition metal starvation and it isn't possible to be specific about the metal.

My objection is that in the homeostasis branch we decided that this was redundant with 'cation'

#24570

but I am not sure which is the correct level of grouping. We just just pick one.
