Code of Conduct

All participants are expected to follow our code of conduct.

We are dedicated to provide a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of:

  • race/ethnicity or national origin
  • sex or gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation
  • disability
  • physical appearance
  • neurodiversity
  • body size
  • caste
  • age
  • Religion or the lack thereof
  • Military status
  • level of experience
  • political affiliation

This code of conduct applies to all offline and online spaces including mailing lists, Slack, virtual conferences, and documentation. Our community has members all around the world and communication amongst people of different backgrounds and experiences can be complicated. We want all members to have a positive experience.

Expected behavior

  • Be respectful of members skills and showing empathy for those less skilled and willing to learn
  • Be receptive to constructive criticism.
  • Being open to collaboration. No lone wolf behavior.
  • Be respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences.
  • Be adaptive for members who require assistive technology or adjustments due to disability, neurodivergence.
  • If creating sources, citing sources is expected

Inappropriate behavior

  • Threats, incitement, or acts of violence. This also includes encouraging someone to self harm.
  • Publishing private information of another member without their permission. Examples include; physical address, phone number, email address, or social media handle. Doxxing will not be tolerated.
  • Public or private harassment.
  • Trolling, insulting comments, or political attacks.
  • Continued communication after being asked to stop. This includes online and offline spaces.
  • Using sexualized language, making sexualized or sexist "jokes". Sending sexual content to an individual or a group.
  • Language this is racist, sexist, ableist, homophobic, transphobic, or other language that is prejudiced / derogatory.
  • Unwanted sexual attention.
  • Touching another person without their consent.
  • Deliberating misgendering or "dead naming".
  • "Outing" someone's identity without their consent.
  • Plagiarism or theft of others' content or licensed code.
  • Other types of conduct that would not be welcome in a professional setting.
