Background color gradients?

Recently started using ghostty, not very used to custom terminal configurations, but it seems like only a single color can be set in the background or foreground...is there anyway to configure it to be gradient.

I'm aware that it might compromise performance a bit, but the option to opt into it would be nice.

Gradients would very easily come from shaders
