As noted at 
http://blog.susestudio.com/2013/12/coming-soon-https-only-on-suse-studio.html , 
Studio's API will only provide 301 permanent redirects via unencrypted HTTP.  
All API calls should be performed via HTTPS. 

HTTPS has been available for years on Studio's API, so changing your tools 
earlier will have no negative impact on use.

Expected date for enabling HTTPS-only API is Monday, 3 Feb 2014.
