Git keep asking me password after changing system user's password

Background:
My PC has enforced a Windows AD rule which needs to change the password every 90 days.
I have installed the latest version of Git (2.46.0) and GCM (2.5.1).
I'm using Bitbucket Cloud and its app password, for some reason, I cannot use SSH to access the code repository.

Question:
Every time I change the system user's password, Git asks me to input the app password again. I want to know if it's an expected action. Thanks.

Without logs I cannot say for sure what the issue is. It's possible that when your admin forces a password change, the credentials stored by GCM in the Windows Credential Manager get removed or are unable to be decrypted anymore (since the user login session is used to protect credentials stored in the WCM).

It may also be possible that your Bitbucket instance may be invalidating any issued refresh tokens when a new AD password is set? Again, without logs I cannot say for sure why this is.
