I am using Cherry Tree on Linux Mint Cinnamon with 1600x900 resolution and 125% monitor scale. I'm not able to adjust the width of Cherry Tree past a certain point, and it overlaps with the other half of the screen. I don't have this problem with any of my other programs.

Is there a file I can customize to make it possible to make the width of Cherry Tree further adjustable? I'd like to have Cherry Tree on one side of the screen while I use another program that takes up the remaining half of the screen.

Idea. Might X Tile (developed by CherryTree author) be useful for this? Dual window panes can be setp. One for CherryTree..

Tx for the suggestion. However X Tile doesn't work with Wayland. I am using a similar extension, GTile, which is fantastic. But it can't resize the Cherry Tree window to be exactly half of the screen, and this is the only program GTile can't perfectly fit into an assigned parameter. And when I manually try to resize the Cherry Tree window I can't make it perfectly fit half the screen.

It's not a huge issue, so if it's not resolved I'll still use Cherry Tree. I may tweak the desktop resolution and the monitor scale.

Since you are on Ubuntu you can switch to different desktop sessions at login time. I have several..

Can you make a screenshot @birchwell1 of the cherrytree window not reducing size to have a better idea of the problem?

Here are 3 screenshots showing me trying to use GTile to make Firefox and Cherry Tree each take up one half of the screen. Cherry Tree slightly overlaps Firefox. This is the case when I use the cursor to try to manually adjust the width as well. Again, I'm using the latest Linux Mint 22 Wilma Cinnamon with Gnome with 1600x900 resolution and Monitor Scale at 125%.

I see @birchwell1 thanks for the screenshots.
In my experience with x-tile development in the past years I actually found that firefox was one of the worst cases, not sure which windowing toolkit it is using.
CherryTree is using a GTK3 window ( https://docs.gtk.org/gtk3/class.ApplicationWindow.html ) which is native to a GTK based desktop such as Cinnamon so it should be very well supported from the window managet tiling feature.
