Hello there great project but is it dead already ?

Hum! It looks so. As last commit on HelloWeb is about 2 years ago.

https://jpro.one is best alternative and is also works well with gluon.

I admit that there hasn't been much activity lately on the HelloWeb sample. It should still work though, and we are still very interested in this -- more participation is highly welcome though :)
