Custom product descriptions for grid/list view [Enhancement]

There should be a way to implement certain descriptions onto your products that show up in the list view, but have the full descriptions show up on the actual product page. I did not like that part of my descriptions got cut-off halfway through a bullet point, while others with shorter descriptions showed up entirely and it went down to the bottom parts of the descriptions (that go into disclaimers), so I implemented into my theme a temporary solution that changes the trim amount and does it based on tags, but if I can have custom descriptions come up while the products are in a list or grid view from the actual descriptions, it would work better...

Just to give a better idea of what I mean by "List" or "Grid" view, I mean when more than one product is displayed on the page, or even more precisely, when product categories or tags are being displayed.
