Please add the letters and sequences of DIN 91379 "Characters and defined character sequences in Unicode for the electronic processing of names and data exchange in Europe, with CD-ROM".

The normative part of the standard tries to include all letters and sequences that are required for the transliteration of names to Latin script. For the generation of proof files and QA tests of fonts it is important to consider correct positioning of diacritics in sequences of base letters and diacritic signs.

The compliance to DIN 91379 will be mandatory for German authorities and organisations in the exchange of data between authorities or with citizens and business from Nov 1, 2024.[1]

The architecture guideline for German federal IT - version 2022 - demands the usage of the predecessor DIN SPEC 91379.[2]
