TMSElevation Parsing Scheme Error #2711

Hello,

I'm trying to integrate osgEarth with GeoServer's TMS service with BIL16 format to retrieve elevation from server side.
Here is my .earth file content:

However, when I check the geoserver's log file I realized that instead of trying to retrieve image from service by adding z/x/y at the end of given URL, osgEarth tries "http://localhost:8080/geoserver/gwc/service/tms/1.0.0/0/0/0.bil16". Thus server returns exception response instead.

I believe this was reported in #2655 and fixed back in November.

If you don't have the latest, you might be able to work around the issue by using XYZElevation instead and rewriting your URL as a template; for example

<url>http://localhost:8080/geoserver/gwc/service/tms/1.0.0/sf:trcov@EPSG:4326@bil16/{z}/{x}/{-y}.bil16</url>

(Try either {-y} or {y} and see which one works)

I know that issue. I think I have pulled the repo and rebuilt after that update, let me check if it is the right version.

I also try the Xyzelevation as you suggested. Thanks.

BTW I am curious about two things

is Xyz or tms elevation is competible with bil16 (all data first translated and then used gdaladdo, as described in samples)
Is there any plan to publish a new release soon?

Good point - XYZ will probably not load BIL format, unless you have a BIL plugin for OSG.
You are probably going to have to convert your data to TIFF.
The latest osgEarth also supports mapbox and terrarium encoded PNGs for elevation.

No set date for a new release yet.

That's a good suggestion, I have already noticed those encodings from source code of TMSElevation but I thought bil16 is more straightforward, maybe because easy to use and already supported by World wind and cesium. But if I can not I would give those encodings a try, thanks
