Hack Nights and Hackathons

Hack Nights are a time set aside each week for coders and anyone generally interested in technology to gather and hack, work on homework, or just hang out. We meet every Friday evening from 4:30 to around 9:00 PM in Ryerson 255 (the big lounge), and we usually end up ordering pizza and doing demos around 6.

On February 10th and 11th we held UChicago’s first Hackathon, a two-day event devoted to collaborative creation and coding. Over 48 hours, hackers across the University pitch ideas, form groups, and build something awesome. There was a $100 cash prize that went to the best project as voted by attendees, Michael Victor Zink’s Study Buddy.
