I have multiple Zooz ZSE44 battery-powered Temperature and Humidity sensors throughout my house.
One of them is in my attic. Each time I change the battery and force an update by activating the sensor (click the Z-Wave button 3 times), it's able to establish a connection and send an update, but once I leave the sensor in place and close up the attic, the updates seem to stop. I think it's losing its connection to the mesh and then burning through batteries trying to connect. The Z-Wave JS UI control panel indicates successful activity (commandsTX:7 commandsRX:9 commandsDroppedRX: 1 commandsDroppedTX: 0) as recent as this morning, but the data (temperature, humidity, and battery) all appear stale. I've run a heal on the node.
The connection seems good while I have it in my hand and activate it, but not when left in place. So, I'm trying to figure out how to troubleshoot the signal strength and positioning of the device to get the best reliability. What methods and tools do you all use for this?
I'm not sure how helpful/accurate the Z-Wave JS UI network graph is currently, but here is what it indicates for that node:
