Right now this is rather opaque and confusing.

DB_HOST etc. is used here for read-only access
HATHIFILES_MYSQL_... is used for read-write access (via https://github.com/hathitrust/hathifiles_database)

Corresponding updates would be required in ht_tanka: https://github.com/hathitrust/ht_tanka/blob/main/lib/metadata_processing/hathifiles_container.libsonnet#L24-L37
