We hope you will have a lot of fun with this software. Get together in groups so you can localize sounds heard by you and your friends.

Some tips are:

• Sounds localize better if they are heard within the polygon made by the recorders that heard it. The more the merrier.
• The bigger the distance, the better the localization, the greater distance tends to reduce the impact of echoes that may occur close to where an individual microphone is located
• Technically, you need 4x microphones to localize in 3D. However, if there are at least three microphones that hear a sound event the software can produce in theory two solutions, but shows the most likely one. So it's even useful if you only have three microphones. Particularly if the sound falls within the polygon of the microphones
• Maybe you think you can't hear the sound on all of the microphones? However, may this be true you may possibly still be able to detect it. By using the time of the strong receiver, you can estimate the time that another receiver would hear it at if it were able to, then you can look at the spectragram with a tool like Raven lite or audacity to zoom in and you may possibly be able to detect the receipt of the sound, particularly if it was an explosion or gunshot.
