Currently the content rendered on the site is controlled by the JSON files in the source code. Updating this is unpleasant, more so for someone unaware about the format. If there is a CRUD portal to do the same, it could be helpful

Agreed here.
I added this JSON style CMS back in 2017 when I created this website.

Maybe the students can create an entirely new website with CMS in newer technology like Next.js?
