Checklist

  • I have updated to the latest available Home Assistant version.
  • I have cleared the cache of my browser.
  • I have tried a different browser to see if it is related to my browser.
  • I have tried reproducing the issue in safe mode to rule out problems with unsupported custom resources.

Describe the issue you are experiencing

When you first enter the backups panel there is a helpful introduction shown as a card at the top:

backups

After you've read it and click the "Set up backups" button, the same exact text that you've literally just read is repeated inside the dialog. It seems redundant and an unnecessary extra screen to click through.

If the user is seeing this dialog they've already made the decision to set up backups, they don't need to be sold on the importance of backups yet again. Just let them configure their backup settings quickly.

Describe the behavior you expected

Allow configuring backup settings immediately on the dialog rather than this unecessary screen

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Do fresh backup onboarding from backups panel in settings
  2. Read intro card, click "Set up backups" button, then get same exact text you've just read, this time in a dialog
