Publish your app on Flathub #189

Hello! The idea is great! Could you please write me on [email protected] or in Telegram: @horsicq Thanks a lot for your help! |
I'm glad you're interested! I'll contact you via email shortly. But first, I'd like to send a few pull requests to improve some Linux-related files. If they're accepted, it will make the packaging process for Flatpak even simpler. I'll link and update the related pull requests on this comment: |
Well done! :) |
Thanks for merging those so quickly! I think I just have one last pull request (the most important one), which is the addition of an AppData file. That's still WIP, though. :) |
This is pretty much ready, I think. Once the next release is out, I'll finally submit Detect-It-Easy for review on Flathub! :) |
First, thanks for this nifty little app! I see you already provide an AppImage package for Linux users, and that's great!
However, with Flatpak packages becoming more and more popular in the Linux universe, I think that having your app published on Flathub would be a good way to spread the word on how cool this app is, and as a bonus, this opens the door for future contributors too!
What is Flathub:
Source: https://flathub.org/about
I already made a Flatpak manifest for Detect It Easy (here), and if you head to the Releases page, I provide a Flatpak package that can be installed on virtually any Linux distribution, as long as Flatpak is set up.
The next step, if you're interested, would be submitting the app for review by Flathub admins.
Let me know what you think of this idea, and I can help submit and maintain your app on Flathub. :)
