I really like the theme, but the balance of whites and grays in this theme makes it appear to my eyes on the bright and washed out look...

Maybe with different filemanagers this isn't so noticeable, but I'm using spacefm, and it would be nice when you have time to test the theme on spacefm to see how the colors contrast to one another.

I've looked at a lot of gtk themes over many years, and this really does appear to bright of a theme, the whites and grays needs to be made a little darker IMHO to make it more balanced and easier on the eyes...

I have a nice ISP panel too on my monitor and I can't seem to adjust it to make this theme look right...

Compare this look of this theme to Clear Looks and Adwaita and you'll see what I mean, this is how the theme needs to be corrected, to be more balanced like these themes, hope that makes sense...

Thanks

Thunderbird also looks a little washed out e.g. in the message overview. First I thought it's related to some color profiles, but well...

Can you please post some screenshots, so we can compare them?

I've been playing with my monitor brightness and contrast and it looks a lot better now. But I personally think the background and colors could stand to be just a shade or two darker is all...

horst3180 is inactive for a long time now. The arc theme is now maintained in this fork:
https://github.com/NicoHood/arc-theme

Please close this issue, test the latest version of the fork and open a new issue on the fork if it still exists. Thanks.

The most recent release also makes most text darker with more contrast in the light arc variant. Please test that.

@NicoHood thanks for letting me you know that you are forking it.

At first it was hard to see the difference in the white of the theme, then after a few looks back and forth I noticed it LOL...

One thing that caught my eye was the menus, the icons on them were a little darker, better contrast.

By the way I have an Openbox 3 Arc theme, maybe I can make an Issue report over at your repo and you can touch it up a little? Please let me know?

Thanks

@Geyup for openbox see: #836 (comment)

Feel free to open a PR for openbox, maybe @natanfelles can also help with that and review.
