Cannot clear "Launch by Default" app for Chrome to Phone under "Manage Apps"

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Send link via Chrome to Phone from laptop
2. Start Chrome to Phone and "Open" link.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would like to set the default app to Google Maps when opening a Chrome to 
Phone link, but instead it defaults to my web browser and when I try to clear 
the default helper app under the app settings, the "Launch by Default  - Clear 
defaults" button is grayed out. I previously had Maps set as the default helper 
app, but with the latest update to v 2.33, I can no longer set the default 
helper app.

What version of the android, in Settings -> About phone -> Build number
