Some of the preferences aren't saved after being adjusted.

2 that I've noticed:

  • The recording sound/mic volume
  • The auto save video directory

I have the same problem with auto save video directory. I set it to /tmp, and it still saved under ~/Videos every time. Closing and re-opening Kazam preferences shows "Videos" as the save location.

I've got the same problem here. I have to reset the auto save location and audio sources every time I restart the program. This is a little bit annoying. Running Kubuntu 17.10 with kazam 1.4.5 "NCC-80102"

Issue still persists on Ubuntu 18.04 with kazam 1.4.5.

Same issue on Armbian (Based on Debian Xenial for ARM architecture) and Kazam 1.4.5.

I have tried directly editing ~/.config/kazam/kazam.conf as well, Kazam just overwrites the config file disregarding any previous changes.

I've upgraded to v1.5.4 and the issue was still present (see #18)
I've only commented out this line (it was the same line in v1.4.5 : line), and now Kazam doesn't forget the video folder! (it was recording the picture folder though...)

Is there any way to use the fixed version on Ubuntu 18.04?

Have same issues (v. 1.5.3, Ubuntu 18.04)

  • The recording sound/mic volume
  • The autosave video directory

Version 1.4.5
Ubuntu 18.04

slight difference in my issue

  • Recording sound/mic volume never saves with preference dialog change (same as other user reports above)
  • Autosave video directory (see below)

Changes to kazam.conf made outside of Kazam will be used when Kazam is later launched. Subsequent launches will continue using those values from config file as long as during these launches:

  • The preferences dialog isn't opened
  • If it is opened, the correct values are chosen before closing the dialog

I'm probably just gonna symlink ~/Videos to my real directory and call it a day

The autosave video directory issue still exists on Ubuntu 20.04.

Thanks. That fixed it.
