When decompiling the 1988 Christmas Card, the system scripts show many cases of "BAD_SELECTOR". I also noticed this issue in the earliest versions of KQ4 and LSL2. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the selectors in those games are two bits wide, whereas later SCI games' selectors are each one bit wide (if comparing VOCAB.997 files is any indication).

In addition, VOCAB.997 gets corrupted at script compilation, so that attempting to view it causes a "Unable to load vocab resource" error.
