Difference between edited and original images suitable for Immich (scan settings of a library)

I've been using iCloud for my photo collection for some time now. Since it has been possible to use a shared library, I have merged the photos with my wife and sorted all the pictures and, above all, deleted duplicates.

Nevertheless, since my solution of a home server with Proxmox, I have decided to back up all the photos locally as a minimum and perhaps to say goodbye to the iCloud altogether at some point.

So I needed two solutions: one for downloading all the pictures and one for organising and, of course, viewing them. With icloudpd and Immich I hit the bull's eye (or rather you, who realise such great projects).

During the first download run of my approx. 80,000 pictures, I only downloaded the originals and set up the first libraries in Immich for my family.

However, I am now facing the following problems

1. now I would like to download the edited images (cropped, rotated, filters applied) afterwards.
   Unfortunately, this is not possible because icloudpd has already downloaded the originals. The only solution would be to delete everything and run the download again completely and download the originals + edited ones.
   But then I face the next problem:
2. the originals are called picture.jpg and the edited ones picture-adjusted.jpg. Of course, only one image should be visible in Immich. There is a practical filter function for this. However, such a filter must follow a common logic. The pictures with ‘-adjusted’ can therefore be filtered out. But not the originals. It would be nice if the originals were given the suffix ‘-original’.

Has anyone here perhaps found a similar problem and a solution?
