Currently, TCON accepts two predefined two-letter keywords besides ID3v1 numeric genres and arbitrary text:

  • RX Remix
  • CR Cover Version

I propose we add more to this, e.g.:

  • IT Instrumental Version without singing voices, cf. 33 $21 Instrumental and 99 $63 Acoustic
  • LY Sung Lyrics without instruments or other music, cf. 28 $1C Vocal, 97 $61 Chorus and 123 $7B A cappella
  • AB Audiobook, usually with a single narrator, cf. 101 $65 Speech
  • RP Radioplay, usually with multiple voice actors, cf. 101 $65 Speech
  • PC Podcast, usually with steady hosts, cf. 101 $65 Speech
  • IV Interview or other dialog, cf. 101 $65 Speech and 120 $78 Duet
  • AD Aural Description of a video, cf. 101 $65 Speech
  • ST Soundtrack of a video, cf. 24 $18 Soundtrack
  • BG Background Music of a video, cf. 24 $18 Soundtrack, 33 $21 Instrumental and 99 $63 Acoustic
  • AS Ambient Sounds of a video, cf. 24 $18 Soundtrack and 26 $1A Ambient
  • RT Telephone Ring Tone or Alarm Sound, cf. 37 $25 Sound Clip and 70 $46 Trailer
  • XX Test Sound or Noise Signal, cf. 37 $25 Sound Clip and 12 $0C Other

Also see #10 for the proposed TAUT Audio Type frame.
