I'm coming up with plans for an integrated event and gallery CMS. I'll post after I have some result.
Liza Henderson|Projects is what it'll be based on

The UX workflow I have in mind requires a change in the way we might report our activities. In this system, each event/activity is an album, which is a set of photographs. Each photograph, in turn, is a collection of an image, and a story about that image.

I've already found an Album Viewer which sets a pretty good base for working with PhotoSwipe
