Suggested Features - Q3 2022

To further improve openbk and enhance its utility for developers, data scientists, and curious souls, I am sharing a suggested roadmap for the library for the upcoming three months.

Features and Bug Fixes

• Exception handling for the main methods.
• Generalize methods to make them "bank-agnostic".
• Categorize merchants.
• Add support from CSV and JSON imports.
• Add new methods to extract the following information
  • Sum of monthly banking fees
  • Any other ideas? 🤔

Adding more banks

This area of improvement is important to ensure that openbk is compatible with a larger range of Moroccan banks. In addition, supporting more banks requires us to re-think the extraction function and how it's built. It also requires us to add more transaction types for each bank.

• Adding support for Banque Centrale Populaire bank statements.
• Adding support for Attijariwafa Bank bank statements.
• Automatically detect bank on extraction.

ℹ️ Choosing which bank to support next depends on the number of its clients and how digitalized its products are.

CI/CD

• Write tests and run them as part of Github Action checks.
• Automate release to PyPI on new release in Github.
