I have searched the existing feature requests to make sure this is not a duplicate request.
The feature
Hello,
In the duplicate review screen, I encounter duplicates that are similar, but not exactly the same. Which is nice for sifting through albums trying to find 'the best shot' that I wish to keep. However, due to backups and just bad organizing, I also have duplicates that are exactly the same: same size, same file name, same picture. I'd like to be able to sift through these duplicates a lot quicker than the ones where I have to sit down-compare-select. But now, they are all bundled together in the same series. I think it would be a nice addition to the duplicate selection feature to scan for duplicates the normal way, but within the resulting duplicates, also check whether or not they have (part of) the same file name* or are the same size. These can be categorized and shown in their own series within the duplicate selection screen.
So in my fantasy I go to the duplicate selection screen and I can choose: duplicates, duplicates same size, duplicates same name... duplicate [other identifiers].
I can even imagine an addition on to this where you are able to run the duplicate selection process with varying values for the Maximum detection distance. That way my list of series would could be expanded with: duplicates MDD 0.01, duplicates MDD 0.1 etc.
I hope I explained my situation and feature request sufficiently, but when I read it back, I can understand it to be a little 'confusing'. Perhaps you can help me specify the situation and request more thoroughly.
'* So D001_img2.jpg and D001_img2.jpg are exactly the same name. However, I've also received links that are called, e.g: attachment_D001_img2.jpg. Still exactly the same picture but the name is has become part of a longer file name.
Kind regards,
Rundy
