In the Overviews:

Documents
Monitoring
maybe others

There are options to filter documents based on their state. The icons are explained here: https://inception-project.github.io/releases/32.1/docs/user-guide.html#_annotation_state_management.

Although the icons are somewhat self explanatory, a tooltip would help the inexperienced user.
