• If an external property (regardless of annotation, object or data property) exists that serves our modelling requirements we prefer using it rather than minting our own.
• Conversely, if an internal property exists that is used by >1 ontology (universally relevant) we prefer that over importing an external one (for now) to reduce standardisation cost. We maintain a mapping.
• We redefine external data and object properties to be annotation properties in OMO for the purposes of meta modelling (skos, prov, pav, mod etc).
