I edited some text in response to a comment and the resulting comment was left orphaned & hanging in space. What should we have done?

We discussed and agreed that ideally the comment should close if the text is gone (but still be available as part of the deleted text if you saw the deleted text tombstone in Show Changes) but none of this is a priority.
