What did you try to do?

I made a private metadata template with the name 'testtemplate2' with one account (my admin account), and saved it.

Then I repeated this with another account (my normal account).

What did you expect to happen?

I expected I would be able to create this template and save it.
After all:

  • Why wouldn't two persons be able to have templates with the same name if they are private?
  • I can't see other users' templates, so I can't know which names are still available

What happened?

I cannot save the template:

Moreover, if I try to add an AVU (e.g. 'testattribute - testvalue'), their layout is malformed:

Note: the same goes for public templates, there it might be more logical to keep all names unique.

Tested on Metalnx version 2.4.0 with iRODS 4.2.10.

@JustinKyleJames you removed templates code with #214 i think...

we'll add template functionality back in once metadata templates working group code has landed in the server...

if this page is now gone, we should close this issue.
