I get an error message that reads
"ERROR."
whenever trying to start sphinxsearch. It does not log anything.

Ive had some of the good guys here trying to help me, but its not been solved. I heard one of you just started using CentOS when this happened, and didnt have the problem there.
(Having some issues installing CentOS on vbox, screen goes black, but only fiddeled with it some 10 minutes so .. )

Id really appreciate it if one of you have a solution to this problem, and would care to share it

Here is someone getting the same message
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/27227624/error-while-run-sphinx-search-service

they seem to think its not an error from sphinxsearch at all, but they dont suggest where its coming from

try running indexer --all --rotate
