Lesson 3.4: Career Panel, Networking, & Survey


  • This lesson will take some prep. Ideally, this is a time to pool employees from your company partnership with varying roles. Both technical and non-technical is encouraged. You may also use the volunteers for the program for this.
  • For the networking portion after the break, the same people may be used.

    • Begin the session with a welcome message and a short activity to engage students.
    • Have students complete the Do Now.

    • Introduce the career panelists, highlighting their backgrounds and career paths.
    • This helps students understand the diverse career opportunities in tech.

  • 🗣️ Career Panel (30) :

    • Have a discussion with panelists share they insights about their careers.
    • Follow up with a Q&A session.

  • 🔚 Panel Closeout (5) :

    • A quick wrap-up of the panel discussion.

  • ⏳ Break (10)

  • 🌐 Networking Activity (45) :

    • Students engage in a structured networking session with professionals.
    • This is an opportunity to practice communication and networking skills.

  • ✍️ Reflection & Closing (15):

    • Guide students to reflect on their development of professional skills through a structured reflection exercise.
    • Encourage sharing of insights on how they've unknowingly built professional skills..
