Crash after loading file

Crashes on Ubuntu 18.04 (with xfce instead of gnome) due to core dump (assertion fail)
Installed using .deb file and gdebi
version: 1.87
Python 3.7 (default)
Python 3.6

The program crashes and I get the following error after I open an existing markdown file and try to scroll through:
