How/where to add the script

Linux and Buku newbie. I need detailed instruction to add he tab auto-complete script to buku command line. Sorry to ask such basic question but clueless.

Would it be easier to patch up the install scrip? Also clueless how to correct and rebuild the install.
Running Buku server from the repository gives an error (below):
Command line version installs and runs with no errors.

If you're using Bash (default AFAIK), the respective completion script is supposed be placed in /etc/bash_completion.d/ (I believe).

Fish has several places for completions, all clearly documented in its manual.

Zsh docs are… rather vague on the matter, but apparently the answer is "any directory present in $fpath" (with the default location being /usr/local/share/zsh/site-functions)

Are you talking about setup.py? It's a Python module installation script, it's not supposed to affect system folders.

…I'm not quite sure what you mean by "command line version" (system-wide package?); and I'm also not sure how exactly you're running Bukuserver so that it attempts to "build python-flask-reverse-proxy-fix" 😅

You can use pipx to install buku for the user without messing with your package system (which is what you seem to be doing there if I had to guess); the command would be pipx install buku[server].

(Or you could download nightly build and use the runner script, I guess.)

…Incidentally, what does running the web-app has to do with command line completions, anyway? 😅
