I followed the github readme instructions and the instructions generate errors. Useless. Typical of almost every Microsoft based technology that's ever been published. The instructions don't work. What an absolute joke.

I think there might be an issue with version 8.0.4 with __getNSwagProjectMetadata

v8.0.4 does not comment out line 6 in Directory.Build.props as version 8.0.3 did:

I think the only thing not mentioned in doc is to install .NET SDK / CLI.

The error says your db is unaccessible, habe you checked connection string in src/Web/appsettings.json?
Propably the local db is not running on your mashine. Tho this is not really a prerequisit, you could also connect to a remote db, so that's up to you.

Your project fails to run because SQL Server Express might not be installed or the Local Database Runtime feature is not enabled.

Try running this command instead:

dotnet new ca-sln --client-framework None --output ca-api --use-sqlite

With the --use-sqlite option, this will then use SQLite for the database; you won't need to install anything.
