I'm suspect the issue is specific to my device, but I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I'm using Obsidian on two devices, a chromebook (using the Android version) and a Oneplus 9 Pro (Android smartphone). Obsidian itself works great on both, and I installed Fantasy Statblocks on both. I've been prepping a D&D campaign on the chromebook (Dungeon of the Mad Mage for anyone interested) and this plug-in has been great in consolidating everything in one place.
When I was reviewing the material on my smartphone, I noticed that the statblocks weren't displaying. I realized that I had forgotten to import any creatures on my phone so I took the same files I had used on my chromebook and tried to run an import. This is where I ran into a problem.
The file chooser buttons launch the typical Android interface for choosing a file, but all the files are greyed out. Folders are accessible so I can navigate the file system, but it doesn't let me actually select a file for import. I had originally tried the DnDAppFile option, but in checking the others, they all exhibited this issue. Additionally, the "Import from JSON" under the Layout section seems to be doing the same thing.
I don't think this is a wider issue (especially since my chromebook was able to import and it's also using the Android version of Obsidian), but I'm stumped. I checked permissions for Obsidian, and it only seems to be asking for "Music and audio" and "Photos and videos". Still, it's reading .md files from the filesystem so it seems to have the necessary permissions. I tried placing the files both inside and outside the Obsidian Vault (on the off chance there was some sort of location based permissions) with no change. Restarting the application and device didn't change anything. I made sure that both Obsidian and the plug-in were updated (Obsidian 1.4.6 / plug-in 3.9.2).
In researching the issue, some people have encountered file chooser issues with Obsidian on Android if they have disabled / removed the Google Files app (typically with root access). My device is stock, but I can't rule out the possibility of Oneplus having done something weird with their configuration. I do have several file management applications installed, but the Google one is the default.
Anyone have any advice? I can post screenshots if that would be helpful, but I don't think there's anything visually present on the screen that I'm missing.
Thanks
Jamie
