The overlay always appears on the same screen when I'm using multiple monitors.
It would be nice if the overlay appeared on the currently focused screen.

+1 ... or the primary display (as selected with xrandr).

I added the feature in my fork https://github.com/berlam/awesome-switcher-preview.
Switcher appears on the monitor with the active mouse pointer.
