go.mod:5: unknown directive: toolchain #216

After updating to go 1.21 and running go mod tidy my go.mod file has a new directive:

toolchain go1.21.3

I tried running CocCommand go.install.tools but that didn't help, I have:

# ~/.config/coc/extensions/coc-go-data/bin/gopls version
golang.org/x/tools/gopls v0.11.0
    golang.org/x/tools/[email protected] h1:/nvKHdTtePQmrv9XN3gIUN9MOdUrKzO/dcqgbG6x8EY=
