We're using Barlow throughout our app and love it. In one of our tables we bold the text for mouseover and other interactions, but this causes the width to change, causing problems. To prevent this I've done something hacky using shadows to fake a grade change. It would be really nice if the font supported the variable font grade (GRAD) dimension natively.

I have heard variations of this request before. I agree it would be nice to support, and makes more sense to me now that it could be a grade axis in a VF rather than a fully multiplexed font. I don't think it's a high priority yet, though - in the 1.5 branch of this repo there's a totally remastered variable font but it does not yet have rounded edges, which is a years-old bug at this point. once I get that sorted there's a lot more room for VF experimentation including GRAD. thanks for suggesting it, I'll keep this issue open
