Sortable / Hidden cols in table / Table resized

I use sortable in a HTML table.
Everithing was quite great until I put some hidden cols in the table.
In this case, the table shrinks when I try to move a row.
I made a jsFiddle to reproduce the problem :

Is jquery ui dead ?
Nobody to find a fix ?

Thanks for the report. Since the issue is already in 1.12, given limited team resources it's not likely to be fixed by the UI team; see the project status at https://blog.jqueryui.com/2021/10/jquery-maintainers-update-and-transition-jquery-ui-as-part-of-overall-modernization-efforts/.

Maybe someone is able to skirt the bug without touching the jQuery UI source code …
I'll wait to have an answer in my stackoverflow request …
