Example is that my yas javascript snippets appears also appears in json mode :
joaotavora/yasnippet#580 (comment)

IIRC I had similar problems with something else enabling javascripty things in json mode which I had to manually remove.

thanks for reporting, I'll see if I can implement the suggestions on the yasnippet thread.

Maybe it's better to just copy stuff from javascript-mode or reference it's variables instead.. Sadly I do not have time to investigate myself right now. I haven't done many modes myself so I don't know much about it.

yeah, that might turn out to be the best option.
