Archived emails are not visible in the GUI

Hello Jsuto,
I'm getting in touch again because my Piler instance isn't running smoothly yet. I can see in the WebGui that 13 received messages have arrived so far, 7 of which have been ignored. On the Bash console I can see 6 files with the extension ".m" in the directory /var/piler/store/00/.
However, I can't see the archived emails in the WebGui either as a user or as a Piler auditor.

Is there anything special that I need to activate or pay attention to?

Contrary to the solution from the FAQs to "I can't see any results, however the sphinx query in the maillog reports 0 hits, and >0 total found:" I am already using Sphinx version 3.7.1.

Odd. Turn on debug logging in config-site.php, and let's try it again:

I have a feeling that your installation is not quite correct. Be sure to use manticore and not sphinxsearch.

Manticore won't start. And on the WebGui I can see: "Error: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Connection refused on database: sphinx".

What should I do if I want to use Manticore instead of Shinx? The manticore-indexer.service also doesn't start because it can't find any tables in the manticore.conf.

Hi,
that's very accommodating, but that's not really my goal. It would actually be better if I had something - instructions - on how to configure the mail piler with Manticore. I have to be able to implement it myself afterwards.
That would be like treating the symptoms without eliminating the causes.
So, what does Manticore need (tables in the manticore.config) and what needs to be adjusted in Piler. Above all, which /etc/manticoresearch/manticore.config or /etc/piler/manticore.conf should be used? The manticore daemon fails with the latter.
In particular, all the other readers of this discussion also want to know what the solution looks like.

Right. Well, in that case how about starting with the docker image that has piler installed with all dependencies? So you can see it action how it works under the hood, and you can compare your installation to.

Oh my God,
on the one hand you want root access on my server, on the other hand you make it difficult for everyone else to disclose your configuration.
Of course you can now use Docker, which is cumbersome. That's also pointless if you don't know which dependencies are required.
How pathetic is that? On your Mailpiler websites you offer installation instructions based on Sphinxsearch. You only mention in passing that it would be better to use Manticore instead. Why don't you make the effort to update the websites and present the new installation method - for everyone, mind you?
Instead we're wasting time here with back and forth. In the meantime it would have been much easier to briefly show the way.
I'm getting more and more the impression that you don't want your mail archiving solution to be used freely? Why is it under the GNU General Public License then?
The program is only as good as the documentation that goes with it. And that's a huge problem.

I have a feeling that this discussion is less and less productive. Frankly, I have no idea what you are doing. I saw that you had a problem, and I wanted to help to get the archive working. Docker is an obvious choice for many. I guess you have no experience with it. You should, it's an awesome tool. Anyway, see my output.
