Automatically check for updates from GitHub and update the corresponding program files (py script if script was executed, exe if exe was executed). Visually use the FBI preview interface.
The more I think about it, the more pointless it sounds. For a project that has a fairly limited development life-span (about as long as it takes to have everything preview-able in a satisfactory way) adding an update function that will (in maybe 1-2 months) be completely useless sounds like a waste of dev time. I'll keep this open and keep thinking about it though.
Negatives:
More imports aka larger file
More time spent looking for how I want to deal with getting latest information
More time developing for a feature that becomes defunct in 2 months
Positives:
For the people who use the program (of which I can probably count on the digits of my appendages), it's slightly more convenient to get the latest version
An actual preview of the progress bar as opposed to a simulated one
