Sorry for the late reply.
Unfortunately Spotify revoked this projects API access around the same time they launched lyrics in their mobile apps.
They changed the API compliance rules at that time, which made this project non-compliant.

Disallowed Use Cases

• Synchronization: Syncing sound recordings accessed via the Spotify Platform with other recordings, lyrics, or video

One can however still use their API for projects like this but only for personal stuff, < 20 users I think it was before.
So the client in this project could still be relevant, but you'll need to figure out the server yourself.
