It's especially noticeable on smaller text.

Both images are at 100% zoom. Left is feh, right is mokuro.

As a temporary solution, you can use open source program Upscayl to upscale the image before running it through mokuro.

Upscayl settings for manga:
Model: Digital Art
Image Scale: 2x
