If possible, use similar syntax to head / tail, e.g.:

cats -5 file    # show first five lines
cats -n5 file   # same as above (alternate syntax)'
cats -n-5 file  # show last five lines of file

To keep things simple, it may be a good idea to only support this for basic operations.
