What's the state of the encoder?
yes, x262 is old but it's still interesting regarding legacy stuff (DVDs)
so: What needs to be done to finish the encoder/how far along is it?
Are there plans to offer it to ffmpeg/ship it with ffmpeg in the future?

Also, it's especially interesting since patents on MPEG-2 have officially expired. I'd love to know if there's any interest in developing on this project, particularly w/r/t encoder quality/performance.
