Meter LED, is it IR?

Cool project!
Think I have all the hardware already so just about to get started.
One question though, I looked at the meter's LED, above the 1000 imp/kWh text. Did not see any light even though heat pump and other appliances were running.
So, either the LED is dead or it's emitting Infrared light. Hoping for the latter..

Answering my own question, hooked up this (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Infrared-obstacle-distance-sensor-Flying/dp/B07WNPXWGZ) IR detector and masked the emitting LED on it and put the detector in front of the meter LED, it registered IR so the answer to my own question is yes, it's infrared light. (At least on my meter, should've written that in my original post, it's a Landis Gyr ZMF120)
