Today, the GCS editor allows us to open up files in an Ace editor for text editing. Can this tool be used to show thumbnails of images and then open up the image in an image viewer?
I worry about the notion of a folder of files and building the thumbnails for the images. I think we would have to download all the images, build the thumbnails and then show them. If the user re-browsed the same folder, we would have the same work each time. What we want is some processor that will build thumbnails for the GCS files and save them somewhere. When the folder browse occurs, they could then be retrieved and shown rather than calculated on the fly.
